Caterpillars and Sunflowers

The children have been working on their fine motor development this week at playgroup. We have provided lots activities such as threading, pegging , building with wooden blocks and puzzles. The children have also helped with planting sunflowers and peas in the play park. and using crushed egg shells to help keep the slugs away!

The preschool children have been encouraged to listen to the initial sounds in words along with matching rhyming words. They also tried to identify objects from a selection that began with the same initial sound .

The children have been learning some new songs for our end of year production!.. never too early to start. They have also been watching the caterpillars change into chrysalis.

Finally, they have been encouraged to observe and draw themselves. We have had some amazing self portraits with some great detail. Phew, what a busy week. Next week we will be celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with crown making and a party snack time!
