We have had a super week at playgroup. Once the rain stopped we were able to enjoy the play park, exploring and digging in the raised beds. We did some 'sorting' activities and the pre-school children have focused on 'prepositions'; learning about positional language and placing play figures 'in', 'on', 'under', 'next to', 'in front of' and 'behind' objects in the dolls house. Much fun was had when one child had to put a figure 'in the toilet'!!
Next week we will start our Christmas preparations in earnest. The children are already practicing their Christmas songs and learning about the Christmas Story ready for our 'virtual' Christmas show. Just because we can't have an audience there is no reason why the children should miss out on the many benefits that a 'performance' will bring to their development and confidence. We will start decorating our tree and adding lots of sparkles to all our activities. It's a fabulous time of year and one that is enjoyed by Children and staff alike; we really are just big kids at heart!
