The last two weeks have been a time of celebration here at Amberley Playgroup. We've explored harvest, Diwali and Halloween, some of our favourite topics!
During this harvest season we've enjoyed playing with the farm and having our very own farm shop. We've learnt all about combine harvesters from Tractor Ted, and have loved to sing about them too! We talked about being very fortunate to always have food in our homes and we talked about those that didn't. We had a collection for the Stroud Foodbank and took a trip to the church to donate all the food we had collected.
Pumpkins are such a great resource at this time of year, and we've really enjoyed exploring them inside and out!
Our literacy focus this week has been Diwali and we've really enjoyed exploring Rangoli patterns, Diya lamps and the story of Rama and Sita, the children have enjoyed learning about different celebrations and comparing them to ones they know well.
Would it even be the Autumn term if we didn't embrace halloween! Such a fabulous time for arts and crafts and the children love to get messy!!
And just like that we've made it to the end of the first term! What a great time we've had. Enjoy your break everybody and we'll see you back on November 3rd for more fun and learning!
