Roses are Red Violets are blue we've had lots of fun at playgroup, how about you?

We continued with our shape, space and measure learning, with the children measuring and ordering themselves from biggest to smallest. It was fun to watch and see the teamwork between them.

Someone had a birthday and we were treated to an impromptu socially distanced visit from Spiderman! The children thought this was magical and there was much laughter and fun.

The children enjoyed some time on the bikes and trikes. Such a great way to encourage turn taking and using those gross motor movements when pedalling. The children also enjoyed a Dough Disco!. This involved manipulating playdough to help strengthen the muscles in our hands. This is the foundation of holding pencils and beginning to write.

This week we are focusing on Valentines Day We are talking about kindness and the importance of being considerate to others when playing and talking to our friends.

The children have been continuing their fine motor development by practising their threading skills and using tongs and pinchers to pick up small objects.

The children have learnt a few new songs with Andrea; this will be recorded and sent out to the parents. We have plans to colour mix paint, touch on symmetry in shapes, practicing our counting and matching skills by using playing cards and heart resources.

When we come back from half term we will be celebrating Chinese New year and looking at some of the fantastic books and stories we all love to read.
