Welcome to the class of 2023

We have had a great fun start to the Autumn term. We have welcomed some new families to playgroup and our younger children have grown up over the summer; they have taken on the roll of being the big children and showing the new ones around the playgroup and introducing our Golden Rules.

We have been getting to know each of the children and helping them to settle into the playgroup routine. We have been encouraging conversation and building friendships by passing a ball/teddy round the circle to find out what our name is and our favourite colour/food or animal is.

Debbie is joining the team this year as she studying Early Years Teacher Training and has come with lots of fantastic ideas to use the tuff tray! The children have enjoyed creating a construction site, an underground environment with worms and mini beasts and an Antarctic island full of ice cubes and penguins!

We've painted pictures of ourselves, and had nearly every toy out of the boxes to find our favourites! The weather hasn't been great this last week so we have have the climbing frame up so the children can still climb and use their gross motor skills. We have enjoyed snack time, story time, singing with Ange and lots of independent playing and learning.

The pre school children enjoyed their first visit from Sophie with her 'curious kids' science experiments. They were learning about clouds, how rain is formed, and evaporation.
