We're Going on a Bear Hunt

Updated: May 10, 2021

This week We've been on a Bear Hunt!

We had so much fun! We started by reading the story by Helen Oxenbury and Michael Rosen to familiarize ourselves with the story. The children played musical instruments to the different parts of the story while Andrea adapted the story on the piano.

To go on our Bear Hunt the children needed binoculars to look for the Bear so these were made from kitchen roll tubes. The children really enjoyed making such a simple craft activity.

Last week we observed the caterpillars getting bigger. After coming back from the long weekend the caterpillars have changed again, this time into chrysalis . We have transferred them into our butterfly habitat for the next stage. There has been lots of discussion amongst the children about the caterpillars. Its been lovely to hear a few of the children give their own interpretation of the life cycle of the caterpillars to their friends.

The hail stones caused much excitement on Wednesday and prompted a lot of questions which led onto further investigation about the different types of weather. The children also managed to enjoy plenty of other fun activities.
